Magog, Eastern Townships, Quebec

The best black coffee we've had this trip...so rich and smooth.

And to die for pastries .......

Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan

Java Joe is a real character with a funky little shop serving a wide variety of food as well as great coffee.

An incredible selection of teapots for sale too.....

Caribou Coffee

Bemidji Minn. and we discovered Caribou Coffee. A fabulous coffee shop with great ambience, super lattes and lots of goodies.

A place to stop and rest awhile, put up your feet, read or whatever.
Internet access too. This is a chain that apparently started in Minn but has outlets all over the USA.

Winnipeg, Manitoba

It has been difficult to find good coffee spots and we are now three days without lattes...... In Winnipeg we find a Starbucks (in a Safeway) and have a good latte.
As we leave there is a great little local coffee shop that served us a great latte .... yes two in one stop....soooo good!

Brandon, Manitoba, Trans Canada Hwy.

Lady of the Lake - advertised as a cafe, shop and pub. Into retro (arborite tables) but modern menu. Disappointing turkey sandwich and coffee. Gift shop was a lot of replica retro - nice things but not what we expected.

Walsh, south eastern Alberta, along Hwy.#3

After an unsuccessful, frustrating attempt to find a local neat coffee spot in Medicine Hat we mmotored on and stopped at Walsh for gas. Trailside turned out to be a great find.

No latte but a good cup of coffee and the most fabulous clubhouse sandwich you could imagine. Fresh ripe tomatoes, mosit roast chicken and real bacon.....so good. Friendly service - a spot to seek out.

Fernie,BC

Mugshots is located right in the downtown full of history and magnificent views of the mountains this little coffee house serves a great coffee. Lots of seating both inside and out. Not dog friendly though and you pet is not welcome on the patio.

Comfortable internet access with or without a computer.
Don't these look like great egg andwiches? Unfortunately we didn't get to try them this trip.

Cranbrook, BC (along Hwy #3)

Swing Street Coffeehouse
An old favourite that made a great egg sandwich but alas today it was a great disappointment. Pleasant server but the latte was watery and tasteless - time to move on and try a new spot next trip.

Creston, BC (along Hwy #3)

Creston Valley Bakery
Sandwiches and wraps made to order - great baked sweet rolls and lots of comfortable seating including a roof top patio with views of the Creston valley. At the corner of Canyon and 10th - the first light as you enter town from the west. A must stop!

It all looked and smelled great but we settled for a delicious wrap and tasty black coffee.

"Deadwood Junction" Greenwood, BC (along Hwy #3)

Deadwood Junction in Greenwood, BC is a great new discovery. Not only a delicious latte but locally made chocolates, lovely gifts and great dog treats that Abby devoured!

"Blue Moose" Hope, BC

We are off across Canada in our Rialta with Abby the westie - we are sorry to be leaving our favourite coffee spots - De'lish and Demitasse - what will we find as we tour small town Canada?????

6am we leave Victoria and do we need coffee - pleasantly surprised to see Starbucks on Oak Bay Ave. opens at 5:30am. Lattes in hand we're off to Sidney to catch the ferry. Coffee on the ferry was quite tasty....
Blue Moose in Hope is always a favourite spot. Great coffee, food and comfortable seating including a dog friendly covered patio where we could sit and sip.
